Problem #1: Alberta. The right-wing lunatic province of Canada.
Problem #2: Fractiousness among the sane parties, plus corruption among the Liberals, allowed the demented Harper and his Tories to control a federal government even with a minority of votes and Parliament members.

It’s such a shame because in the past Harper has even done the right thing. Take the case of Maher Arar.
