At least they admit their failure. They threw quality and safety out the door for expansion.

As Toyota extends its massive recall due to faulty gas pedals to Europe and China, opts to shut down five North American assembly plants and suspends sales of eight of its most popular vehicles, the auto world is perplexed by what could have gone so wrong so fast at such a stable company. According to Japanese auto analysts — and not denied by Toyota execs — the company pushed to hard to become the world’s largest carmaker, and momentarily forgot about the qualities that have led to its success.
