Are CVS and Walgreens selling your private information to Big Pharma?

without comments

So whats the point of all this? If the facts in these suits prove to be correct, then when you take a prescription down to CVS or Walgreen, you are effectively releasing the information to just about everybody in the drug and related industries. It most certainly opens you to the possibility of a blizzard of pitches.

CVS Today’s Worst Corporation In The Wooooorlllld!

without comments

On Friday, a stack of old prescriptions was found sitting on the sidewalk outside that CVS. Anyone could pick up the papers and see some of your most personal info… which is exactly what the NY Daily News did.

The News tracked down some of the customers whose scrips they found on the street. “I’m just so angry. I’m going to blow my stack!” said one woman, whose 2002 prescription for fioricet with codeine was in full public view outside the CVS.

Of all the places this happened it was at their Park Ave location.

Shame on CVS

PAL member Change to Win challenges CVS

A group of labor unions is launching a campaign that accuses CVS Caremark Corp. of violating patient privacy and improperly pushing doctors to prescribe a costly prescription drug.

CVS who basically purchased Caremark in 2007 doesn’t seem to care about privacy when profit is concerned. The drug that CVS is pushing is Merck’s diabetes drug Januvia. They appear to be pressuring doctors to prescribe this drug.

Januvia is as much as eight times more expensive than many other diabetes treatments, according to a recent study. Some medical experts say patients may not need the drug and may respond just as well to older, cheaper treatments…

CVS and Merck a filthy marriage indeed.
