Shame on PHS and Vermont
I never, ever thought privatization of prisons was a good thing. Just look at Wackenhut. You can now add to the list of Wackenhut’s of the world a corporation by the name of Prison Health Services (PHS). In the case brought to my attention by In These Times magazine, PHS has every reason to lawyer up after their fecklessness.
Prison Health Services (PHS) never gave her the prescribed medication that could have saved her life. An autopsy put the cause of death as heart failure caused by “denial of access to medication.”
Bastards.
